Club Officers

A club officer has a very important role within Toastmasters International. The success of a club and its members depend on how well you and your fellow club officers execute your responsibilities. By providing leadership and support, you can foster a positive environment that’s conducive to members’ personal and professional growth, allowing them to achieve their Toastmasters education program goals.

President

Leads the club and presides over meetings, ensuring that the club meets the needs of its members. Represents the club at the district level and oversees all club activities.

Vice President of Education (VPE)

Plans and organizes meeting agendas, ensures members are progressing in their Pathways educational goals, and oversees the educational portion of meetings. Manages scheduling for speeches and other roles.

Vice President Membership (VPM)

Handles recruitment and retention of members, welcomes guests, and follows up with prospective members. Tracks membership growth and ensures that the club maintains healthy membership levels.

Vice President Public Relations (VPPR)

Promotes the club to the public and within the community, manages the club’s social media and website, and handles external communications. Works to increase the club’s visibility and attract new members.

Secretary

Maintains club records, including meeting minutes and membership records. Handles club correspondence and keeps important documents organized and accessible.

Sergeant at Arms (SAA)

Prepares the meeting space, sets up equipment, and manages logistics. Ensures meetings start on time and that the meeting environment is conducive to productive sessions. Also responsible for maintaining club property.

Treasurer

Manages the club’s finances, including collecting dues, paying bills, and maintaining financial records. Prepares the club’s budget and ensures that the club remains financially healthy.
